Asian food stores are a treasure trove for light weight meals. Beyond, the dried udon, ramen and other noodle dishes, they have dried shrimp, fish, calamari and other proteins, kelp, mushrooms, etc. If you're worried about MSG, many are sans these days.
I find them much tastier than supermarket instant pasta/risotto meals.

Unless I'm missing something this seems to be the obvious course of action.alexnharvey wrote: ↑28 Nov 2022, 12:34pm Of course, you can also loosen the brake wire to allow the brakes to accommodate a wider rim of thicker pads.
Loosen the brake cable

Seems odd. Some of those brands are shipped all over the world, with I'm sure the same amount of paperwork.
Perhaps, it's more political

Re: Bike Bought - Thank you
I applaud the research you've done and understand the anxiety of getting the right components.
I too, was mixed on brakes. Mind you, I will never do a world tour, but it's easy to find yourself in a position where brakes need a major repair. With the experience I've had with hydraulic disc brakes, I would not want them on a tour taking me to parts unknown.
With rim brakes, I can do any maintenance/repair with my eyes closed. With hydraulic brakes, I've had mixed results. Not to mention the availability of parts. Mind you, I am self taught in disc brake know-how.
If I had to go disc, I would go mechanical. Additionally, disc mounting should not require specialized tools. Along with having the most common brake system for parts availability
Let us know when you depart
Cheers

Re: Croatian Coast - Island Hopping and Ferries
I have suggested to not take the coastal roads during peak tourist season because of all the campers and motorhomes on the road. The roads are quite narrow and can be a harrowing experience. Though Croatia is working hard at making their country a bike destination. The situation improves constantly. I have done a fair bit of research into island hopping and it can get frustrating due to the islands not being connected in a chain fashion and some ferries do not accept bikes. If you either plan your trip well, or take it with a 'whatever comes' attitude, it is a great ride.

Re: Is there any point in cycling?
Either you take to cycling or you don't. There are those who ride for the fitness aspect, those who like seeing the country side and those who commute for variable reasons.
