Re: He didn't even stop!
This story has been featured on the MX5 Owners’ Club pages for some days, and has attracted many comments. (The car involved was a Mazda MX5). Condemnation of the driver has been as universal as it has on here, with comments similar to this group. There is certainly no attempt to offer any excuse for the appalling driving standards of this man.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'
It’s now almost two years since the flawed referendum, and I’ve yet to hear one benefit of Brexit. It’s not even the “will of the people” any more according to opinion polls, not that 37% of the electorate was ever a majority.

Re: Don't cast a clout until the May is out.
My mother always used to say it meant the month of May, but I always maintained it referred to the blossom.

I’ve long ago stopped trying to change the time. Just leave it alone and mentally adjust

Re: Left or right foot de-cleating?
I’ve always unclipped my right foot, although on club rides I see most riders doing the opposite. At the moment I have a broken right ankle, so cannot ride anyway. I’ll have to see how flexible it is after healing.

I was surprised to see a day running light (for cars). I thought they were modern items.

Re: DAHON FOR TOURING
I did a two week moving on tour with CTC in Sardinia a few years ago on a Dahon. We used hotels, not camping, but we had full panniers. I think four or five people used them, mine being a Speed TR. The bikes coped well with the trip, although we found braking on the long mountain descents something of a challenge, probably due to the small rims getting hot.

PR must be the future aim. I believe the UK is virtually the only major democracy to still use FPTP.

Re: Should the British bill the EU for saving it in WW2?
I think the OP just shows the misplaced sense of entitlement supporters of brexit have. I’ll be charitable, perhaps the comment was a failed attempt at irony

Re: downgrading with age.
It's not just to do with cycling. When my iPhone gave up the ghost recently I replaced it with a £2.99 pay as you go one. I've also stopped using my kindle and gone back to paper books from the library. When I changed my car a couple of months ago I bought a model without many of the fancy electronic features of the previous one.

Re: Speeding motorists
When driving I often use my cruise control function to ensure I do not exceed the limit. It's amusing to see potential offenders lining up behind. I sometimes flash my headlights at drivers obviously going too fast, especially in 20mph residential areas, but NOT if there's a speed trap ahead
