It's all Thatcher's fault
Well it is. Didn't she say that any man travelling on a bus after the age of 25 was a failure?

And how did that phone call go? Was the phone a buzz? Or did the conversation go flat at the vital moment?

Its a revenue generating exercise as they know they've got you by the short and curlies.
It's nothing short of bribery, with a plastic coated finish. They know it, we know it. It's just the 'game' you have to play.

The only thing that would make it better would be for it to have 3 legs instead of 4 for those of us with garage floors that aren't level

Grow sideburns and dye them ginger.
Or if you're a woman put on some fishnets and do a center spread in FHM.
And definitely shave your legs!
Sorted! Innit?

Have you thought about other pedal system manufacturers? Eggbeaters come in silver, are a decent brand, if 'quirky'? I think the mounts are SPD shoe compatabile - kinda same but different?

Oh God - isn't teaching your child to ride a bike one of life's great feelings? If doing something like this isn't 'spending quality time with your child' then I don't know what is.

For the inside of a frame, I'd dilute the waxoil a bit then make sure it's evenly covered everywhere by warming the frame with a hair dryer and giving it a swirl. You'll get the excess out too!

A dog. If you're allowed to take/have one. It'd be trained well to hunt/round up etc and would still be there at the end of the day, curled up at my feet.

Re: ITV4 picture quality
I think it's something to do with the 'mux' (could be wrong terminology here) that digital TV channels are broadcast on. What happens is a pile of channels are grouped together on a (not sure but bare with me) 20 megabit 'mux' channel. So there's a maximum of 20Mb shared between the channels. I *think* ITV1 hogged all the bandwidth(bloody football), so the rest of the channels on that mux suffered.
I'm sure someone with better knowledge of digital terrestrial TV transmission will be along shortly to say I'm talking [rude word removed] and correct me (please do!)
