It would certainly be interesting to know what the thinking behind these changes are. From the initial reaction, it is likely to create some hostility and a drop in membership, which can hardly be the intention or of benefit.

I saw that but the change is destined for November and price list already sorted. Looks like a done deal. Is the AGM before November? Haven't got it in front of me.

Re: CUK Price change.

I only have it for the insurance and to ride with the local club. The clubs aren't riding or dying the death through lack of interest. The mag is full of ads, Josie Dew's meanderings and MTB stuff.

CUK Price change.

Had my letter this morning telling me that the Concessionary 12 month membership reduction is to be ended. They are also informing me how successful they are and how cycling is increasing. Don't think I'll bother renewing.

Re: Modern bikes noisier?

Modern bikes aren't noisier per se.

Mate of mine has a quite expensive carbon bike. He's recently added some carbon wheels. The noise from them to my ears [used to a silent steel bike] is horrendous. Of course he doesn't notice it as it's his only bike.

I'd oil what I can see. Change the tyres. Check the brakes work ok. If the tubes are still holding air they would probably ok. I've got some ancient tubes still doing well on my bikes. Then go and ride it around the block a few times. You'll soon know what needs doing urgently.

Re: Modern bikes noisier?

My steel bikes are silent. Until I put a modern wheel on them. it's the flat bladed spokes on modern wheels that make a noise on my bikes. i'm also usually on D/T shifters, so no noise from them. Frighten a lot of cats.

Re: Campagnolo allan keys?

Gosh this thread has roamed about a bit. :) I ordered a 7mm off the net for £2 this morning. Just been out to the bike and find, it's not Campag. When I bought this bike it was Campag throughout. Struggled to read the writing on the stem and assumed, like you do, but should'nt, because of the key size. Anyway turns out it's a Milremo Course which is an Italian design. So fingers crossed the 7mm fits.

Campagnolo allan keys?

I've got a bike with an old Campag 1" stem. The centre bolt has the usual Allen key fit. None of my Allen keys will fit it and the largest in my set is a 6 which is too small. Before I go buying one I need to make sure it is the right size. 7,8 9? does anybody know the correct size?
Cheers.

Look for yourself. I'm not going to trawl the net for you. Ferguson has been outed time and again for his over the top predictions.

Over to you for reputably sourced alternative explanations.

You are going on and on. All those you mention have all been discredited and all are subject to government influence. I just talk to doctors and nurses who dare not speak out. I've worked with the UK government for years and am well aware of statistics supplied to the media.

And as an aside accusing a group of scientists specifically set up because they disagree with the govt as being under the influence of the govt is really quite something.

Hardly set up to disagree as they are advisors to the government.

You are trusting the government's assertions. I do have evidence of the mis recording. I'm not speaking from ignorance. My son is a nurse and my daughter is a doctor.

Re: C19 - Ending The Lockdown

Factor is a lot of different to cause. Plus the deaths, factors have been falsely reported. I wouldn't trust any published statistics.
