CTC frame transfer
I have rejoined after several years and am trying to find a traditional CTC winged wheel frame transfer.
The club used to sell them via the shop in Godalming. They were about the size of a 50p piece.
I can't find them listed anywhere and it appears the shop has ceased to exist. Any ideas?
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section but I only have limited access to the site at the moment.

Used to pick them up at the Stand at York Rally, so i know what you mean... think they disappeared back in the dim and distant past...... I think CTC shop is sourced through Wiggle.

Re: CTC frame transfer
this has been discussed before (several times I think)
eg here
http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12665
but I don't know the outcome for sure. H Lloyd appear not to have any CTC transfers (I just checked) and IIRC others have asked for them in more recent times.
There are these on e-bay (no affiliation)

It seems weird that there is clearly a market for these transfers, yet the CTC management are presumably so keen to rebrand/revamp the organisation that they won't sell these...?
cheers

The ebay seller is in Penrith and IS H Lloyd - presumably just another channel to market.
It does look as if the CTC product is just a foil-blocked vinyl sticker and not a transfer (my definition of transfer being "waterslide, fix and then varnish"

oh yeah, so it is...
That is odd, I searched their list for the text 'CTC' etc and came up empty.... I wonder why they don't seem to list these transfers on their main site ???
cheers

From my limited dealings with him, he's a bit of an odd bloke! - and it looks like the "ebay shop" may have higher prices than dealing direct? He obviously has to pay ebay the commission ... but there's also the ebay customer that doesn't look at prices . . . . often paying more than ordinary shop prices.

Re: CTC frame transfer
Thanks for the info, looks like it's eBay then. Shame they can't be purchased direct from the club.

which 'club' is that then...? Didn't you know that the CTC is 'the national cycling charity' these days...?... (see top left of every forum page for ghastly evidence of this...) -surely the emphasis on 'club' is now long gone...?

Re: CTC frame transfer
Hi Brucey - yes I did know that but I do enjoy the heritage of the 'CTC' and wanted the traditional logo for my frame. You can't put a value on heritage and tradition - the winged wheel looks good on a traditional frame
Re: CTC frame transfer
When looking for transfers for obscure bikes I found some transfer sellers would make one to your design. I can't remember who they were now, I think one was based in Stafford, if you search ebay you should be able to find them. You must have a picture of what you want, send it with the size required, and where it will fit on the bike. It may not be the clubs genuine transfer, but who cares? Who would know? Hope that helps.
