Who's to say there wasn't an injury? the rider came off his bike. He may have well have had an injury. I once broke my shoulder blade and didn't know.

How many people have a hard copy of their insurance certificate in their car or about there person every time they travel ?

I keep an electronic copy in my e-mail folder, which can be accessed and read from my phone, which I always have with me. I hardly ever print anything off nowadays.

In reality when i was stopped recently the police officer just called in my registration to his ops centre, they checked my insurance and mot and licence in less than a minute...it's all on the DVLA database, and i was on my way.

Precisely, I never have and nobody in the UK has to..........unless you are not of this country.

That's just in comedy films and Drama's about bygone era's of crime fighting etc

The "produce your certificate of insurance" is a new one to me.

Mine only exists somewhere in Arizona in a Cray supercomputer called the iCloud.

Call me dumb, but aren't that what printers are for?

Prudent to print your new cert and place it in a safe place at home

Never ever ever EVER.

I carry my driving licence these days because it's a small photo card thing and fits in with my credit cards etc and has other uses.
I never carry any paperwork anywhere with me.
You never know who's going to mug you and "confiscate" them.

If you want to know who I am when in the car, read my registration number. I'll give you my name and address if you ask nicely.

Surely most muggers would rather have photo ID plus credit cardS etc? Whenever I see people's wallets stuffed with plastic I often idly wonder why anyone has more than one credit and debit card. One of each seems more than enough to me!

Someone stands behind you in queue, sees your number, mugs you outside and bins your card whatever, its not rocket science.
Warned a bloke in post office after he withdrew 5K in cash right in front on me not hiding his PIN

Its Your personal number not to be advertised to complete strangers.

Why do we all have loads of Loyalty Cards - not very loyal are we?

When we recently renewed our car ins and were going out of the area on holiday I thought it prudent to print the certificate and keep a copy in the glove box just in case - There have been cases reported of peeps being pulled by Police just because their car is many miles from home (suspicious?) and it can take a few days for the computer base to be updated.

What he ^^^^ said also if they carjack you by the time you get it reported they can have it registered in their name at the DVLA and you've lost your car (happened to my brother) just been MOTed so had reg doc's, MOT, ins in car.

Or if they are involved in an accident/stopped by police they can give YOUR details to them and YOU end up paying for it or even getting charged for a crime (Almost happened to me), luckily I was in the police station reporting the mugging at that time.

All you need to give to "produce the insurance doc" is the certificate/policy No and the Site address.
No need to get it printed.
I keep the details on my EMAIL.
