Lidl cycling/other & Camping gear stuff
Re: Lidl cycling gear week 23rd -29 March
if you are using the lithium front light with an external power bank you probably need a long cable to connect them. My Poundlanders have some described as Sync and charger cable for Android with usb and micro usb plugs - 2 m this seems to work.

Hi. Our local Lidl has some cycle undershorts from tomorrow.
Anyone tried them or has an opinion please.
I normally use decathlon own brand, and these are around half the price of those.

It's a composting toilet -> my XT1068 using hovercraft full of eels.
Do you have a link for this?
Didn't notice them in the lidl mailing.
I assume they are padded?

Link here, page 37.
I was assuming it was the same deals as in the UK last week. Certainly if they've done the shorts in the UK they will be the same.

Re: Lidl cycling gear week 23rd -29 March
Hi,
Been using the lights several times a week (£9.99).
Today got home and rear light missing
Knurled angle adjusting screw was missing so must of come undone, I have a spare which was meant to be a spare, fitted the bracket and some threadlock
I think this is the first light I lost since the never ready days.

Hi,
Straps is OK, its the thumb screw that came undone, the part that clips onto light and light has gone.
Done a out and back route today but did not know it was gone till I got home.

I had the same happen. I'd only had it attached a few days. Luckily I heard a clatter behind and went back to find what it was. Examining the screw, it has thread lock on it so I've tightened it more (and re-tensioned the battery contacts that took a knock in the fall).
I am impressed with the front light (certainly for the money). Did some country lane work in the dark and realised light reflecting off the levers and bars was a distraction so fashioned a nice mount for the fork using a bit of curtain pole and the end of an old bar grip. Having it there has some advantages: no distracting reflection, more useful spread of light on the road, and the possibility to offset the light to the right since it seems to have a bias to the left.
Re: Lidl cycling gear week 23rd -29 March
I think the rear light is quite nice having a 3 beam pattern to left and right and back from a single bright led. Will have to think how to prevent it un screwing. havent got any loctite maybe put some glue on the end
The thing I will remedy, on one copy of the backlight the top pushed off too easily so I will prbably put some tape on it to stop this vibrating off
The rear light on the lithim and battery sets look the same but in detail arent - The battery covers are differnt with differnt ribbing & the switch buttons are differnt round or rectangular. different model numbers 117d d-led 3 and 117e d-led 4
if Lidl offer the last few at 20% off as they did with the cycle computers I may get an spare set

Hi,
Rear light with li-ion set, the batt cover does move easily when taking off bike but I don't think vibration will make it drop off.
On other lights that had a very good tight cover, I used some cloth tape / quality sellotape as once I hit the bike against something moving bike, and the cover popped off.
Front light has developed a side to side wobble, tightened the screw on bracket hidden by the light when mounted, just a tad and all is well again.
I liked the rear light as it will run a long time on rechargeable aaa batts.

Re: Lidl cycling gear week 23rd -29 March
well my lidl reduced the remaining £6 light set to 30% off = £4.20. Last night they had 6 left today when I visited a few mins ago just one set which I got as a spare. so if you are looking for a cheap spare set maybe worth a look in at you lidl asap as clearly some people know a bargain when they see one. In my case my Lidl have a area there all the reduced items a re dumped, and thats exactly how they are put there, just dumped altogether, clothes house hold stuff, toys you name it, just not food etc

I know this goes against the perceived wisdom, but I bought myself a big wide soft trekking saddle from Lidl a week or so ago. Longest ride I've done on it so far was around three and a half hours, but I can say it was REALLY comfortable!
Like I said, I know general theory is that big padded saddles are not as comfortable as you would expect over longer rides, so maybe it is my body weight and size that means it suits me better.
Anyway, so far, makes longer rides a lot more fun.

Hi,
Well my long rides are on a saddle that I bought from Lidl several years ago, I did look at the ones that they currently have, I thought you were going to say one of those tractor size saddle's they had as one of three models
My long rides are day rides @ 246, - 3 x 238 (one week apart), - 296 (continuous but more than a day ), etc etc. you can keep your preformed suede
