If you had a £1000
If you had a grand what bike would be top of your pile?
Cx bikes preferably but road bike's also very welcome

The Spa steel Audax (of which I have my own custom built version) or the Spa steel Tourer http://spacycles.co.uk/m1b0s21p0/Bikes/ ... d-Sportive

Right now I'd go for a Giant Rapid 0 but it will be something different by the end of the week

I would need more than £1000, though I might consider a carbon road bike from Decathlon.

I'd be trotting off to a frame builder and then looking down the back of the sofa to kit it out...

If I already had everything I needed or wanted in the bike department could I spend it on a fortnight in the warm Caribbean?

Boardman CX Team.
I have the model down(CX Comp) as my 2nd/Winter bike and can't fault it.Probably going to replace it with the CX Team next Winter.

If I had a grand, it wouldn't be spent on buying a bike, but components and accessories for a bike.

I don't need another bike. Imagine that! I don't need anything that money can buy. I feel free!
Re: If you had a £1000
I wouldn't buy a bike either - I've got all I need. I'd build a protected enclosure inside our barn to take them all and get them out of my workshop so that I can get some woodwork done without tripping over the buggers.
Have we got time for another cuppa?
Re: If you had a £1000
My Brom is getting pretty tired after 15 years hard thrashing, so a replacement. Mine has a dynohub so that'll get it up to the grand.
Often seen riding a bike around Dundee...

The Spa Audax would be high on my list, but I already have one.
If I came into a grand of spare cash I’d order a custom steel frame for the parts currently on my Spa Audax. It would be pretty similar to my Spa Audax anyway, but with some differences (including a steel fork) and probably a bright yellow paint job.
I wouldn’t buy a cyclo-cross bicycle unless I was racing cyclo-cross. They’re all wrong for anything else.
