Couldn't you make the rear rack also do something useful by attaching a low cost narrow rack/trunk bag?

...if those mini front racks are good on a folder?

Re: ...if those mini front racks are good on a folder?
I got the cheapo front rack from Laxzo. I reckoned at less than a tenner it was worth a punt. Did not fancy attaching it to the brake bosses so made up a couple of short steel brackets to meet up with threaded bosses on the forks just behind the brakes. Seems stable enough but will later make up a top support of some kind as a belt and braces idea. Not been used yet and probably not now until next year ( assuming I am spared and well ) given that I am unlikely to be away again this year with a tent. Don't fancy Barra in gales and pouring rain!

Surprisingly, my heels strike the front of the side pockets on my bag like that when it's on the folding bike's rear rack. The only things that fit are my tail roll on the very rear and a lock in front of it, so it's been really useful carrying a 12litre bag on the front rack when I was away last week.

I think some are available with out side pockets (ie same width as rack) or if a cheap one, I suppose you could cut the pockets off...
Eg I used to use this (obsolete) carradice rackbox on a folder without heel interference:

Its modern Brompton equivalent is 70 pounds though :
