Virtual Reality cycling equipment / fancy static trainers

My brother, a keen leisure cyclist is, unfortunately, in hospital long term and is desperate to get some exercise. He has a room of his own with space for an exercise bike/turbo trainer and would love to link it to a video of a real-time Lands End to John O Groats ride or something similar (not training videos for racing cyclists). Ideally, this would be on a VR headset but if not, on a screen in front of the trainer. Would this possible? Any suggestions for makes of trainer etc? Cost is, within reason, not an an issue. I would be most grateful for any help.
