Travel hard case

Post by kennethmwc »

I wanna bring my bike back to my home country.
Does anyone know about "LifeLine EVA Bike Pod Black One Size", is this bike case hard enough? Because I'll send it as checked baggage
If this one is not good, which one does?

I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my wobbly bog brush using hovercraft full of eels

Be aware that it weighs 8kgs. You'll have to take this into account when looking at your check in weight.

For a one off trip, a simple cardboard bike box with lots of padding should be adequate.

Indeed, and that is very light, most bike hard-cases are on the 12-13kg.
And the maximum weight for a piece of checked baggage is 32kg so is wise to make sure the bike is not over 16-17kg.

FWIW, I've used a VK strongbox and though is ugly and a bit of a faff to open/close, it's reliable and lightweight, also being two halves it can be stored a lot easier than a conventional bike-case
It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...
