We've established that:

1) you have a budget of £1500
2) you want an 'road' bike
3) you want an 'endurance' bike
4) you prefer an aluminium frame to a carbon one.

Re Point 4 can I ask why?

Also, what sort of riding do you have in mind to do on this new bike?

I'd suggest a trip to somewhere like Spa Cycles that has a range of different bikes in different sizes and that will let you have a decent test ride;

I've just bought one of their steel tourers and it's a really good bike. It will take 35mm tyres and I will mainly be using it for Audax (endurance type) events. They also let me have a good 5 mile test ride on it with no pressure to buy. You can also choose which parts you would like to be fitted to the frame and forks :-)

I think I'd prefer alloy over carbon because I've heard carbon easily breaks.

I'll be using the bike for commuting, training and long distance 'sportive' rides.

I'll have a look at Spa Cycles.

Thanks again for your replies!

All on road ?
Cheap carbon vs aluminium ld go for the aluminium cheap carbon is not that good. Best compromise is carbon forks and ahigh end aluminium frame. If commuting do you want mudguards ? Do look at Audax bikes Tifosi, is another brand to add, ribble as well .
RIBBLE build a bike might suit you, as you can choose your frame wheels and group set.
