Remember this one from a Guiness ad a few years ago?
Give that animal trainer a raise! :D

I quite liked CTC's 'Cycle Hero' cinema ad. Can't believe it's 10 years ago now.

Lh drive is not uncommon in BMX, the kids may like to grind on that side of the ramps so they can have that option. there are Lh drive chainsets and hubs, I do have an ACS Lh freewheel and hub, one day I will move the chainset to the Lh and swap the Spd pedal axles with their bodies
It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best,
since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.
Thus you remember them as they actually are...

Perhaps it's a pun on their marketing ad - "reaches the parts other beers can't reach".

It might be telling that there is no text visible in scenes with the bike in - for some reason (sorry - "artistic reasons") they might have reversed the film. Also, the front brake lever is on the wrong side for the EU, but then it's a fixie and fixies are weird anyway.

That's what I thought, but I wasn't going to spend time checking back through to see. On youtube "nect up" for me was a vid about how they made that ad. I began to watch that but there was too much guff.

not so much daft as something else, this one, and not bicycle related.

There is at present a Hugo Boss ad running on TV in which the strap line is

...success is meaningless, without integrity....

Which is a bit rich, coming as it does from an organisation that (amongst other things) cheerfully designed and /or supplied Nazi uniforms, employed forced labour etc back in the day....

cheers

One advert that is missing is one from the TV Licencing people - would have to be after the 9pm watershed wouldnt it ? as threats and intimidation with a figure walking up the path and knocking on the door, after peeking in the window would be real horror story

Atleast we dont get ads US style? I have seen a few shows and they plaster them during the shows at the bottom maybe taking up 1/3 of the screen or keep popping up telling you when the next episode is or the when another show is. If that was here I would refuse to pay the TV licence.hmm I already do so thats a no brainer

As it is christmas time I like to hear the well known christmas songs slade, wizzard, mike oldfield, steeleye span, greg lake..... The list goes on and it helps put you in christmas mood. Likewise the idents that the beeb have used for years, each year being different but christmas oriented. This year what a disappointment, totally unfestive, just a wannabe dancing girl and her dad( omid djalili by the look of it ) f*rting about with fairy lights.

Given the earlier complaints about interrupting cycle coverage - I was thinking that a banner style ad ‘break’ would be a reasonable compromise
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

When in the States 10 Year’s ago, OLN (I think it was called) used to cover the TdF and had an ‘advert free’ half hour sponsored by Powerbar. This had a constant ticker bar at the bottom of the screen stating it was sponsored by Powerbar with Phil and Paul droning on about it being such. Once that half hour was over, all the ads that would have been shown during that half hour would the appear, which usually covered the final few kilometres before the finish, ie the most interesting part of most stages. Hugely annoying, I was so glad to return to the UK.

I've heard some folk say that they prefer TV with ad breaks rather than without, because it gives them a chance to make a cup of tea etc. I guess they were not thinking of live sporting events though.

I find myself irritated beyond belief by any extraneous distracting rubbish on the screen; any channel with a ticker tape at the bottom of the screen (even the news) gets turned off instantly. Even the channel ID in the corner of the screen I find annoying; Ch4 have recently added this to most of their programmes (not trailers, or ads, go figure... ) and this has pretty well ruined film viewing on C4 for me.

cheers
