I still don't know what subjects are forbidden - unpopular perhaps - but forbidden? There are rules of course, and rightly so, but forbidden?

Are there really people on the internet who do that sort of thing? There should be a word for such behaviour, and a name for the people who do it.

I think the term is up to date information seekers :D too many subjects are declared settled in the 'I like what I know and know what I like' school of thought.

bushcrafters are terrible for it.

If you saw a poster asking how best to make square wheels you'd ask why, you might even suggest that without good reason they should probably consider the circle as a more useful shape...
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

.................yes - true- in fact that bike wouldn't need brakes. It'd be easy to fix skis to, for winter downhill racing!

My close family members have insisted that I ride with round wheels, however I'm concerned that with increasing useage by other cyclists, eventually it will become a legal requirement to have them fitted on all bikes.

If you have one from pre 1977, you can continue using it VED-free and circular wheel-free too.
