Brightons new Boris Bikes

And very smart they look too.
Use a shaft drive rather than a chain and have a large control module on the back with a solar cell where you type in your accnt details. For any one who just bikes a round Brighton ( and Hove ) at £75 a year for 60mins a day, after 60 minutes then 3p/min  ? - who needs to have your own bike ?

Look interesting, I'll add trying one to me list of things to do next time I'm in the area. Even the casual use price looks decent value.
Does Brighton have a job lot of than colour paint? It seems to be on everything.

The frame looks quite complex, esp at the BB. Wonder why?

Nice colour :D

there are quite a few bike docks along the sea front - it will be interesting to see how they stand up to the salt spray/air.

Hi, they look great. Love the colour too. I'd like to read a review / head to head comparison in Cycle magazine.

I saw a pair in Hove 3 weeks ago. Great spec on paper for a city bike share: 26" wheels, step through frame, 8 spd Nexus hub gear, roller brakes, dynamo lights.
Makes sense to go for the 8spd over the 3 SPD in hilly Brighton.

didnt know they were that well speced. I wonder how many will be stolen for the parts? eg the Nexus gear hub?
