I've long admired older sunbeams, but I'm not familiar with all the quirks. The rear brake sounds amazing; is there a roller clutch on the BB spindle or something?
cheers

Re: Full chaincase
Not sure how the brake is activated, I will find out one day when I have to, or on one wet day when I have no other jobs in the workshop. It is a very powerful brake and would be a very good system for riders with hand disabilities and unable to use a brake lever.
It was an option and in the 1920s cost 10/6 (52.5p), the complete bike with a two speed bracket gear cost 18gns (£18.90).
