Looks good, but I’d have to have it knitted for me: I was the only kid in my junior school class whose square, knitted for an Oxfam blanket, was 6 inches on one side and 3 inches on the opposite, a disgrace, really, considering that my mother was a brilliant knitter

Fortunately, this lady can usually hang on! Pity the women wearing bib longs who have to practically undress when caught short. Not good, especially in winter when there is nowhere to hide!

No, I don't. If anything, I easily overheat everywhere except my fingers and toes, but I thought my suggestions may be useful because despite trying to avoid them, I have discovered those clothes I mentioned, which are far too warm for me for all but about seven days a year!

The thought did cross my mind, but it seems a bit drastic. Never needed it except maybe in this specific situation, but I’m also put off by the possibility of an accompanying headache. Belive it or not, I seem to recall doing someting like this in my teens MANY years ago, probably in search of a viagra effect! Most certainly not to be repeated, though the exquisite discomfort would probably take my mind off the cold

Your comment about the tea made me think. I always drink icy cold water on my rides: maybe I’d be better with a hot flask? Totally agree re GP appts.
