Healthy drinking bottle.
Because there is nowhere else to mount drinking bottles on my bike I have them fitted like the one pictured.
Its okay in the dry, but as soon as it gets wet and muddy the bottles get covered in gunge and look a bit nasty. I usually unscrew the top when I want to drink, and as the neck is covered by the screw top its not too bad.
Does anyone know of a bottle with a covered top? I had a google but have not found one so far.
I don’t want a camelbak, and yes I do use mudguards.

buy a small saddle bag to put it in? I have a small narrow deep one made by Karrimor of long ago so they at least used to be made

Better mudguards? I don't get any muck thrown up on the saddle of either of my mudguard-equipped bikes.

Since I have in the past used a bottle on the underside of my 1993 Cannondale downtube your issue is one I’m familiar with, having frequently ridden through sheep and cow “rear end offerings” Bottles with a cap over the spout area seem the best solution and it would appear that Halfords sell one - Elite Corsa. I can’t comment on it otherwise. If I resurrect my old Cannondale mountain bike this year I may well be looking to get one myself.

Try Elite Corsa MTB or their Iceberg, both have protective caps that work well on my cross and MTB, the latter is also very useful on winter rides to keep your water from getting too cold.

Hi
These 650ml and cheap enough, and these 550ml (you can buy larger)
Some of the thermal bottles have a lid, but they tend to be more expensive
Edit, beaten to it ^^

Thanks all those who gave helpful answers, bottles with those little domed lids are exactly what I had in mind. A few there definitely worth looking at.

Saw the request.
Raked in garage-Yes got one.
Which you can have for the post cost.
pm me with info if you want this.
But better still get Tour De France job as shown by tai -b
Brand new!! for £1 + postage?
Bottle preference?
Worthwhile get largest top diameter then easier for effective cleaning
AND easier to fill with ice cubes if topping up in an Alpine bar.
Now I'm off to order some gloves from that advert for the T d F bottles.

Decathlon do a nicely designed covered bottle, I bought 2 around 3 years ago and paid £2:50 each.
