Cycle Travel Website

Post by carlislemike »

Is it just me or has the website gone down today or much worse still, has it 'gone' totally ? Tried on 4 different devices and can't get any sort of site identification or entry and my wifi is running well.

Assuming you mean http://cycle.travel it just time-out (server isn't responding) for me as well.

But computers have glitches, "go on holiday", get upgraded, etc. so maybe not time to panic yet.

Sorry about that - the site is hosted on a couple of servers run by Hetzner (https://www.hetzner.com/?country=gb), and they had a big power outage in their datacentre this morning. Have to admit I panicked when the site suddenly became unreachable, but seeing lots of other people on Twitter having the same issue made me realise it wasn't just cycle.travel...! It came back after about an hour or so.

Right, panic over. I can retrieve my planned route for a weekend sortie. Interesting that Richard himself took time out to reply. Thanks all.
