my mates dad was one of them. Bernard Turton in york. when he retired we used to collect forms for him to fill in from anywhere we could find them, he loved sitting there filling things out.

Oh yes, the stores requisition form.
Spent many an hour filling those in, only for the storeman to gleefully say....
...."we've got none in" :roll:

My favourite stores story - that I witnessed myself - was when someone didn't know the full official description of the item he wanted so he described it and asked the storeman for the correct name..... only to be abruptly told "I'm here to give you what you ask for, not tell you what you want!" :lol:
