Even if, on first assembly, you tighten square taper crank bolts to the specified torque, they will need re-tightening after the bike has been ridden for a few days. This is because the hard steel of the square taper B.B. axle ‘beds in’ to the softer aluminium of the cranks.

A knowledgeable home builder will do this. A good bike shop will tell the customer to bring the bike back. In the case of a mail order bike or a shop that doesn’t bother with after sales checks, or a customer who cba to take the bike back, a sticker like that is the only logical thing.

I have dealt with a number of roadside rescues of cyclists who didn’t know this or whose bike shop didn’t tell them. A month or two later the crank loosens and gets trashed in the process.

...... which would make perfect sense if the sticker warned the rider to check for tightness after riding, but it doesn't.

If it needs tightening after riding and that's done before being next ridden it will be tightened just the same. Makes no difference when it's done as long as it's done.

It makes a big difference -the sticker would be removed and the bolt tightened before riding, as instructed. Thereafter, with no sticker, the bolt would not be tightened again.

Hardly, the person removing the sticker has read it and hopefully follow it's advice. Either way it has to be removed before a pedal is fitted and if the person removing it doesn't remember to follow the instructions it matters little what it says. If they do remember then the end result will be the same.

I know a couple of people personally, and by their own admission some who post on this forum, who struggle with basic bicycle mechanics, even punctures.
Many of the older and in some cases not so older members of the forum were brought up to make do and mend and that to neglect maintenance meant no transport and no fun  .

There are a generation of people who simply don't understand the how to,and because they're time poor and money rich take their bikes to a "specialist" as they would their car,so from a manufacture's POV it makes sense to do what they can to both cover their own backs and remind such people what is safe for their own well-being stickers are one way of achieving that.

I've a sneaking suspicion you haven't read the label.
