Week of 3 September - a perfect cycling weather?

Fine, sunny, no rain, not much wind, hardly any cars - I felt lucky to be alive. And what’s more, next week looks promising too.

Set our for my Saturday 50 ..... soaked to the lycra skin in 5 miles ... no jacket no helmet ...so home.. now sat in the kitchen sorting out my winter kit and putting the summer stuff away .....Its pouring down ... a pleasant day of bike building / maintenance beckons .... might even go for some "smartie points" and put the book shelves up ...... forecast for tomorrow is good but tights, helmet, clip-on mudguard and rain jacket in the spare bottle are the order of the day i'll be bound.

It's starting to be distinctly autumnal here. The last couple of days have been wet, though I've mostly avoided a complete soaking, my commutes have featured rain showers, wet leaves, and puddles. Thursday morning, my day was made when I saw a child of around 6 or 7 years old take a huge jump into a big puddle. The grin on his face was remarkable.

I won't say it's not rained here, it has but somehow i've managed to miss it on my regular ride days - it's been warmish with sun and blue skies this afternoon around Robin Hood country :D
Convention? what's that then?

No. Just no. I absolutely hate the rain. And so do my shiny, chrome finished bikes!

Okay - I got thoroughly wetted today, it was cold (mostly sub 0!) and windy too - not enjoyable as such but i've had much worse and the trails were quite fun.

The bit where I couldn't feel my fingers even after squeezing the wet out of the gloves was certainly not fun but I enjoyed my coffee and sandwich stop. Okay, i'll admit it, I'm an addict!
