Brooks B17 Standard width?

Post by deliquium »

Brooks' website states their B17 Standard saddles are 175mm wide.

I wonder why all 7 of mine, ranging from 1992 to present day, including normal, titanium and Imperial, measure 170mm at their widest part?

You're right. Why do you have 7 of them? And why do the ladies saddles end with an "S"?

S is for Short as they're shorter than mens

I would presume for 7 bikes.

Seems reasonable to me, if you find a saddle that works for you makes sense to have them on all your bikes. It’s what I do too, and always useful to have a spare as well ;-)

Soon to be 8

A lightly used brown B17 Imperial should be with me soon, courtesy of gelvis OTP

The thing is, bikes don't look right without saddles and it's good to have a spare + they must have shiny silver chrome rails 8)

I thought that 'Seven Brooks For Seven Bicycles' would make

a good title for a musical.

One of the songs has already been written...'Bless Your Beautiful Hide'!

For the most part they don't ride too well without saddles either  .

I think we've got a hit. 'Seven Brooks for Seven Bikes'. I'm ringing Ed Balls' and Clare Balding's agents right now.
