Winter Cycling Gloves ?

Cycling Weekly have just tested 5 pairs of 'winter gloves' only 1 pair of which were able to keep your hands warm at near to zero temperatures.

I wondered, as there are only five in the main review. The comments on the also-tested gloves are pretty brief. What's the only freezing-point glove in the magazine review then?

Also, it's not really been very cold yet this winter, so does "winter glove" necessarily mean it's suitable for freezing conditions?

Dissent 133. A set of 4 pairs of gloves that you layer according to the conditions. At £95 I think I would want them to automatically point the way to the nearest cake shop too.

As an aside, I don't have particularly warm hands and the best gloves I ever had were a simple pair of fleece ones. I have no idea why they were so good cos I have had thicker fleece gloves that were less toasty.

I might pay that for the cake shop feature, as long as the pointing didn't interfere with control of the bike!
