Unknown Denon Folding bike barn find.
I have just cleared out a garage for someone and they just wanted rid of some stuff which included a bag with a folding bike in it.
Just opened it up and found what I can best describe as an almost immaculate Dahon 111 USA designed and engineered.
The only info I can is a number on the base of the frame below the pedal crank. A846A8
Anyone out there know if this is old, new, worth anything?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, J (Minibaggoman).
I have added more photos, I am under the impression the bike has never been ridden : ( except around my living room today).

Re: Unknown Denon Folding bike barn find.
A couple of similar bikes cropped up on Gumtree last week:

Like you, I wondered if these were worth anything, but a quick search on Google suggested that they're not yet considered collectable rarities, and people are still basing their value on how well they actually perform as bikes - which is, apparently, a bit mediocre. If you were to hang onto them, they might go up in value, but it's difficult to say - old doesn't necessarily mean collectable.

Thanks,
I don't know if it is old , new, a copy so any info is helpful.
I live on 5th floor no lift so it's a win win for me. If it's worth a few quid I might sell it , if not I can a least bike to work without carting my mountain bike up and down each day...it does my head in!

Like to see some photos of the whole machine
Are the tyres perished? Is it rideable now?

Info from Dahon suggests yours was made in Taiwan, 1988. The Sturmey Archer rear hub may also have letters and numbers that others can translate into a manufacturing date.
Re: Unknown Denon Folding bike barn find.
SA hub will have clear date marks on it.
