Replacing Panaracer Pasela Tourguard 26 x 1.25 (32-559)

Post by bikes4two »

Thieseare Gumwall/Skinwall tyres and my good lady's touring bike has had them for a while but they now need replacing.

SJS seem the ONLY source at £35 each which seems a bit steep.

Does anyone know of an alternative and cheaper source or indeed an alternative skinwll/gumwall tyre (must be 32-559)

Many thanks.

if you are happy to use slicks at 35mm wide then Schwalbe kojak might be worth a go. Wired versions (not folding) are bargain priced, as little as £12 or so.

Another good value tyre is conti contact speed, which is available in 26x1.3" (32-559). Costs as little as £16 if you shop around. Quite a fast tyre, steers nicely too.

cheers

Despite much googling over the past few days, I had not seen the Conti Contact Speed and for a moment I thought I'd have to buy Marathon (who do a 32-559 version but are somewhat wighty).

So thanks very much @Brucey for the heads up and Mr Postie will be delivering a pair soon (Reflective version from Bikester.co.uk for £17 ea + P&P)
