26" disc fork?

Post by Si »

Can anyone recomend a fork for me:
26" wheel
1.1/8th ahead
Disc brake mount
Approx 37cm crown to dropout (ie not sus corrected)
long steerer
mudguard mounts
Ideally low rider mounts if poss
Strong enough to use on light/moderate offroad / gravel / bridleways
Not one of those chinese ebay carbon jobbies.

I have an old project 2 fork that almost fits the bill but the steerer is cut too short, and they dont seem to make them in this size anymore.

Thanks.

A Thorn 26 nomad fork in black is on sjs for £140 and is available. (In the current fork section)

I would call Winstanley before buying online there. A few times I've got excited before my hopes were dashed.

Could that be because you're looking at the rim brake version you linked to...

Si, What steerer length do you need? I have a Kona P2 in the garage and could measure it up for you.

I'll take a look at the fork then. From memory the bike it was used on had a long head tube so you could be in luck. PM if you like.

Si, measures 240mm of steerer tube. They are in reasonable condition, have the posts for V and the mount for disc. Mudguard eyes only on these - no low rider mounts.

Edit: I re read your intitial post and the need to know the crown to drop out measurement. I'll find that out.

Measured from centre mudguard bolt hole to drop out is 410 mm. Is that going to work for you?
