You are spoilt for choice at this price point. The Diamond Back is more expensive because it has slightly better components, has 11 cogs instead of 10, and you get a dropper seat post. But there is not much difference between the two.

Both bikes have 27.5 wheels, so in theory the bike would be a little more agile than a 29er like this https://www.cyclerepublic.com/voodoo-bizango-29er-mens-mountain-bike-2018.html A 29er "rolls a bit better"

All these bikes would be good for general (not too challenging) trail riding. Good for riding most bridleways and blue or red trail centre routes. But none of them are recommending for any serious jumping. They are basic off-road trail bikes and you could have a lot fun with them. I'd go for the cheaper one.

You should also be aware that every month Cycle Republic/Halfords quite slash the prices of these bikes (like a £100 off). So look out for some deals.

I don't know about those two bikes, but personally I wouldn't touch Cycle Republic with a bargepole. I've heard dreadful things about them, and if you Google them, you'll find the online reviews back this up.
