Sorry, should have been clearer. I wasn't suggesting the OP should have the frame done completely in car paint but that the original colour may possibly be found by reference to the paint code records available. Should a match be found any decent spray shop should be able to mix enamel or whatever to match and a source of touch up paint can still be found in future.

Thanks - I’m going to a proper resprayer, my understanding is that sourcing the paint at Halfords would give touch up options. Think I’ll pass the info on to the bike shop re colours and let them sort.
