Have train reservations just got more difficult?

Hi all

Until this month I've been using Transpennine Express or Scotrail to book journeys with my bike.

However, trying to book a journey just now, Transpennine Express (and GWR, Chiltern who use the same system) seem to have gone through a redesign of their booking system and whilst you get the option to book a bike there seems to be no way of checking whether you have been successful before you pay for the tickets, and on paying, it seems I was unsuccessful!

With Scotrail, the option to book a bike is also there, but the number is greyed out and cannot be changed from zero.

This might be a problem which only applies to multi-leg journeys (possibly only even where one leg carries bicycles without reservation). My ticket is from Wemyss Bay to Barrow-in-Furness.

Has anyone booked a multi-leg journey with a bike reservation without problems since this month's timetable change?
