Thanks,

see plain people like me don't know, again fewer choices, getting like Tesco and the large food places, shame.

No point in shopping around then :(

There's no such thing as a tailwind.
It's either a headwind, or you're going well.

.... and the same company also operates as trisportresort.com with an ebay shop https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/tri-sport_resort - from the look of it the stuff is all end-of-line clearance or returned items.

Yes, and your favourite Halfords is also Cycle Republic, Trendz and Wheelies.

explains why the offers nowadays aren't anywhere nearly as great as they used to be.... :|
Funnily enough, I was originally put onto chain reaction by a halfords staff after I looked at him askance after asking the price of a basic triple set.

Wiggle, Chain Reaction & Bike24 may be the same company but Bike24 has a far greater range and is generally significantly cheaper even with the dire exchange rate and taking the postage costs for Bike24 into account. The usual story of making Brits pay more I suppose. It might not work out so cheap if you have to return items to Germany, but for stuff you are sure of then Bike24 is a no brainer - until Brexit of course ☹

Bike24 is pretty good for the reasons you state but so was Chain Reaction a long time ago. The historic pattern of consolidation in this industry has been to jack up prices (after all, a major reason for consolidation is to eliminate competition), reduce stock variety, and get rid of the differences that made each shop interesting in the name of efficiency. I doubt Bike24 will escape this fate.

Anyone been into a Sports Direct F W Evans lately? (genuine question - I haven’t)
how’s it looking?

Although I despair of Brexit and losing easy access to Bike 24, Rose, Bike-Discount, Bikester, Hollandbike etc (last orders please!) we have still got quite a lot of choice of on-line retailers in the UK, and it pays to shop around. I suppose there’s little point in stockpiling those Continental tyres!

Bought a pair of muddy fox branded touring shoes for £30 about three weeks ago from their Kings Lynn store . Good quality and fit .
Just managed to find room in my panniers to get them back home....to Derby :D {long week end away touring.}

Ashley looks as if he's running down the stock at Evans (probably over-stocked with slow-selling stuff prior to going bust?) with cheap prices in the shops and masses of stuff on ebay Buy it now.

It’s going to do toys (again) and kids’ electric cars isn’t it?
