Looking to replace part of my lighting system, after some miscreant ripped out batteries and cabling. I need a plug and socket that looks like the picture. Can anyone please tell me what it's called, and where to find one?

Round pin, low voltage, plug and socket.
Consult RadioShack catalog and the like for many many variants on this theme. Some may well have weatherproof seals.
Hope this helps

When somebody tells you what it is, it's easy to find one on google:
https://www.carspares.co.uk/product/251 ... ocket.htmlOf course "looks like" does not mean "identical to".

That's a Tarquin's Conundrum Connection.
Trust me, I haven't had a cheeky glass of wine
