There are no three-letter words in w3w addresses. Too easy to remember?

free.quirky.funhouse is a Texan dirt track.

geomannie wrote:Hmm, I've had a look at What3Words. From what I see I will suggest that its totally created for an anglophone user base.

No, you can use loads of other languages - but the addresses in each language are completely untranslatable. free.quirky.funhouse becomes chaisière.mentonnière.mangoustan!

How memorable or useful are the 3 words to a non-English speaker?

Maybe if we keep saying the 3 words slowly enough and loudly enough the foreigners will understand?

That is a classic. Going off topic, here's a brilliant video of a voice actor mimicking an automated call to scam a scammer: https://youtu.be/sN_tVRmzA7Y?t=190

The 3 meter square "3 words" is a cover ...ish ...

The 3m squares make up a non radar emitting terrain following path used by advanced weapons.
Radar is an active source and can be tracked, so in the 80's a non emitting navigation system was devised, primarily for the Tomahawk Cruise Missile and latterly the Brimstone system using "patch " technology for navigation ...
The 3 word squares are actually a guidance system for advanced weaponry ...
mmW technology can follow the patches without emitting any radiation that can be detected ...

If that's true, you've got to be sorry for the folks living at secret.atomic.bunker - bound to be first on the hit list.

Incidentally I see that while Test Valley District is a local authority area in Hampshire, test.valley.district is a location in Guyaquil, Ecuador.

Cost.moral.meals

Back garden of Wetherspoons.
Two pints of Dartmoor Jail Ale.

Last place was Cap'n Jasper's on the Barbican and not the Navy Inn.
Cheese burger and a mug of tea.

40 miles done and getting the train back to Gunnislake.
