Hello.
One of my bikes has a bracket for the d-lock fitted in the main triangle, I find it very convenient because it leaves more room in my bag, and especially it means less weight on my shoulders.
The catch is that road vibrations do make the lock to rattle, and I got annoyed by the noise.
So the humble toe-strap came to rescue, keeping the crossbar of the lock in tension on the bicycle frame. Brilliant idea, what would a cyclist do without a toe-strap?
Now I'm riding with the bike almost quiet, if wasn't for the plastic cover where the key goes in the d-lock. That rattles, too.
I'm thinking to use a spray grease to silence the thing, any suggestion for a product that goes solid (to an extent) after been applied?
Thank you.

Grease will not stop something rattling, if that's what you're thinking. And even if it does, the pause will only be temporary..

You don't need anything special. A bit of chain oil worked into the moving parts will help quieten, but not totally eliminate noise.

A bit of Vaseline perhaps?
