Brompton Triple fold vs? Help

Postby p3x569 » 22 Jun 2020, 12:23pm

I'm looking for a new folding cycle for a old man on a boat. He had his Brompton cut outside Ashcroft Sainsbury's and I want to get him a new one as he's a pensioner living on a house boat and it's the only way he can shop without getting on public transport (he's high risk).

The problem is the bromptons are so expensive I can't afford to buy one outright and he can't either. He saved up for the brompton originally because of the triple fold he can store it on the boat easily (bike before that got stolen/cut from outside of boat....)

So. Does anyone have any alternatives, something as compact as the brompton with half the price tag?

Thanks for help!

Possibility: ... g-Bike/KP2

Or they can supply a heavier but less expensive steel version.

I think you're in the market for a used Brompton (and a quality lock!) Unfortunately, bikes are in demand currently and prices are up.

Maybe an appeal on local news program?
Brompton, Condor Heritage, creaky joints and thinning white (formerly grey) hair
