Has anyone seen theses or even tried one? Look quite interesting but not sure how far you could go on one! Or how practical and seem quite expensive!

Re: Halfbike
The rider looks very much over the bars and front wheel, so the poddibility of going over them on a pothole or slight lip looks high.
Also, it looks very under-geared: compare with the size of chainring on a Brompton. That may be a design feature to avoid excessive speed (see first point)
I wonder what the turning circle is like - important when riding in traffic.
It's technically illegal to ride in the UK as far as I can see as it appears only to have a single brake.

Re: Halfbike
You beat me to it.
I take any chance I get to try different varieties of cycle.
I tried a unicycle but did not have enough time to master it.
I own a recumbent bicycle.
I took an upright trike on a club run.
A friend has a recumbent tricycle- great fun.
I have done a fair bit of tandeming.
I have hired a seaside quadricycle.
I played as a child on roller skates, I am perhaps too old for roller blades.
I would love to try this peculiar machine, though it does not appear very practical.

Re: Halfbike
One of my neighbours did a trial period with one of those.
She said it was more work than cycling; more like jogging.
She was trying it out on a 5 mile commute. When her trial period was up, she gave it back and went back to cyling it.
I didn't try it while she had it, though watching the video, I wish I had.

Re: Halfbike
That does look fun - but at my age I think I'll give it a miss. In any case it's too hilly where I live and with only one brake it wouldn't be legal on the road.
Re: Halfbike
I would give one a go. Not for serious riding just maybe hire one to try for an hour somewhere flat.
