There's an area of Ipswich in Suffolk that's called California, as it was developed around the time of the 1851 gold rush.
The Route 66 bus motors west into Ipswich along a route that passes through California. Someone at the bus company was obviously a Chuck Berry fan.

The number of places abroad, with British place names is bordering on endless.
There are fewer well-known foreign place names in the UK. When I had an ice-cream round in Bradford there were places out towards Haworth called Egypt and Moscow but neither seems to be on google Earth

There's a sign on the A30 in Cornwall that reads
Helland Bodmin. If I was the sign writer I would have been tempted to leave a space between the l and the a.
