PM Notification to my email

I used to get email notifications of incoming Private Messages.

This no longer seems to be happening and I've missed a few.

Is this something to do with this site, or some other cause?

Any help/advise appreciated.

Hotmail has recently started sending all my notifications from CUK to the junk mail folder. Could be something like that?

Gmail started doing the same with these notifications recently saying the sender may not be who they appear to be.

The fix for Gmail is to set a filter for the sender and tick the never send to spam checkbox.

I occasionally find stuff mis-directed there, particularly when an organisation I know has a different address for a particular subject. It only takes a few secs to whizz down the list, then I hit delete all.

Looks like the messages are now failing DMARC validation, because the message isn't signed by the outgoing mail server (my server, not Cycling UK's one).

Because cyclinguk.org now has a DMARC record, asking for failed messages to be quarantined, it ends up in the Spam folder.

I'll chat to Cycling UK's IT department, as I might be able to get the Forum to send outgoing mail via their mail server, which would fix the problem.

As you have probably guessed, I'm a complete numpty with computers.

Is that something I have to set up myself or is it the same as "recycle bin"?

I'm not sure what you mean by the above but my email provider is gmail. The computer is (I think) windows 10 (?).

Possibly Outlook. Or could be a web browser?

I've just realised that I get PM notifications at the top of this board, so as long as I am 'logged in' I can access them.
Actually a bit simpler than going through my email.

I'll soldier on with this for the time being.

What is a "spam bucket"?

If your gmail is like mine there's a column down the left of the screen with "inbox" at the top. Scroll down and you may have to click "more" then "Spam" will be listed with an icon of an exclamation mark. Click on that and it will take you to your spam folder.
