He isn't.
He's riding like I do. I ride where it suits me on the road, and that's what he's doing. Sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right, and sometimes in the centre ....... or anywhere.

If there's no other traffic, why not ride anywhere?
Why not ride where the surface is better?
Why not ride where you get the best view of the way ahead?

Exactly so. I bet you're not clad top to toe in Rapha gear though, like the cyclist in the pictures. It's like a fashion shoot.

By the way the NYT does fab deals for online reading. I had it for $2 a month for a year and now I pay $4 after a bit of negotiating. It's a great newspaper - more world news than any UK paper.

Wonderful, atmospheric photos. Most of them could easily be 50 years ago.
Makes my first lockdown effort look decidedly average. :(

Leave off the discussion of helmets, please.

The first mention of helmets was in the opening post. Perhaps the thread should have neen in the ghetto from the start.
It's the same the whole world over
It's the poor what gets the blame
It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?

I'm not going to put this thread in the ghetto. I will, however split off the discussion, if people cannot leave it alone.

In some pictures he is where the driver of a car will be you can find me there often on some lanes.

I'm running them thru my Frank Patterson filter, they come out as lovely black & white line drawings. :)

That was the idea. Sorry I poked the helmets hornets nest.

Truly wonderful pictures!
Some older members will remember a "Tony Hancock" episode where he declared he "painted with light".
