Cycling kindness & Small charity

Post by ClappedOut »

Generally my experience in the last year has been pretty hard and lonely, with the health issues I have-I admire and aspire to those healthier and more able than I am.

Recently we acquired a rather nice tandem and the person let us have it at an affordable price knowing we would get exercise and enjoyment out of it, new tyres and a diy service It has been bullet proof.

Forum members have been unbelievable in the kindness with offer of parts and project bike / Frame.

So after seeing an S7 carbon hand crank trike for a wheel chair user I believe -it struck me that to a lesser degree there are barriers to the great benefits of cycling and I would like to make a £20 donation to a small charity that helps people with advice and adaptions- the question is which charity? as several around Bristol for instance.

In some small way I would like to pay it forward.

Had a read and after much consideration I decided that Charlotte's tandems fitted the bill.

1) free hire to those who otherwise wouldn't get the chance.

2) volunteers holding charity bicycles

3) no active panhandling page

So a gift of £20 actually liable to be spent on maintaining the tandems and not admin costs or wages that larger charities swallow vast amounts

That looks like an excellent organisation to support.

Something amusing at speed on a tandem.
