good gilit needed

im back cycling after 7 years of lay off anyway CLOTHS for cycling i bought hummervee trousers so far so good.i really don't want to get back in lycra,so i need a casual Gilit or Top.the one im wareing i sweat buckets in it.


Im small and got a belly comes with old age i guess so anyone a brand i could look at thanks.

I’d take a look at Decathlon, if you have one close by, or online. I have a number of Gilets, but my go to one is a very lightweight one from Decathlon, it keeps the wind off but folds up into the size of a small orange and easily fits in a pocket. I’d also look at their tops - particularly their cheap “blue product” or essential range. I have several of these and they only cost £10-15 and they come in a baggy fit.

I have a Decathlon gilet that I find good. It's not a cycling-specific one but marketed for "trekking" and is quilted. I just took a look at their website and they've got two Forclaz Trek 100 gilets that are different garments and different prices despite their names being the same. I've got the £15 one (reduced from £20) with square quilting. The zip often goes down as I go uphill and it often goes up as I go downhill :wink:
I don't know if you're looking for something more wind-resistant and less padded (or otherwise) but they've got loads of different styles with varying degrees of insulation and wind resistance
