...if any one sells a steel framed disk step through

My alloy one is heavy anyway, and with a rear carrier, with child seat (+13KG child), front flat bed carrier for bikes/scooter/child stuff it rides like a cow

If you're looking for a similar load-lugger, then the Tern GSD looks good. I don't know if it's an alloy or steel frame. Or Surly's Big Dummy is obviously steel. Both are big money though.

If you're looking for a more conventional hybrid-type step-through, maybe Batavus or Gazelle.

Consider a Dutch bike with a rear hub brake - they are designed for lugging loads!

None of those really fit the bill - steel, disk brakes, carrying capability

Like a Thorn Raven but with disks

I don't need an ebike yet, and anything longer/bigger becomes suddenly impractical getting in/out the front door

I can still get up big hills with child + kit, but steel always feels a bit softer laden and would probs be same weight. Also could double up as an adventure/tourer with a bit more comfort

So maybe a Thorn Club Tour? The latest version has disks. But neither that nor the Raven are step throughs...

Thorn do a Nomad step through frame with disks: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/thorn-step-through-frames/ . Note that the price of £659 does not include the forks, which are another £140-£160. Or you could use a V-brake on the front instead, which should give a slightly more compliant fork, for £120 You'll need to check that you get the correct offset. https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/thorn-repla ... nt/?page=2

Expensive - but the Nomads are designed for heavy loads and are pretty bombproof.

Thorn's wheels are reputedly bombproof too.

Dang thats an investment - so approx 820 for a new frame, then might have to think about wheels! Would be an epic tourer though

Vernon Barker cycles in Sheffield will retro fit disc brake mount on an ally frame. £90. Had a few done by them. Good workmanship. Happy with the result. Leaving you to work out what fork to use.

Marin Larkspur 2- Chrome-Moly , they also do a cheaper model called the Kentfield which is disc, but aluminium frame.https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/marin-la ... -2021-bike
Winstanleys were the first Marin stockist hit, there may be others.
I remembered it was tested by Russ at Pathless Pedaled a while back, he also tested a Soma mixte which was very expensive and I couldn't find it on Southern Distributors website who are the UK agents anyway..
Larkspur 2 test.
