Bikehike down?
Re: Bike Hike website
I struggle with this stuff!
Again, I didn't state my requirements clearly.....I'm wanting to work with downloaded Ordnance Survey maps, and I don't think I can download maps on cycle.travel?

Perhaps if we all emailed and offered to donate?Hi, and good morning.
I see your excellent route creation website isn’t working.
Will it be fixed soon?
Is it a lack of funds?
I’m willing to donate again, if it helps.
Thanks and best wishes,
Mick.

Bikehike down?
I've been trying to plot a few new routes on my favourite www.bikehike.co.uk site, but keep getting the message:
API key has been blocked by Administrator.
It's happened on my Mac and also my Android phone, so I assume the problem is not mine.
Any ideas please?
As an aside I'm also having problems with www.osola but I've spoken to them and that issue is down to my ancient Mac, as they've had to change their programme due to O.S. issues.

Re: Bikehike down?
I've been sent a link from a forum member. https://gb.mapometer.com/. Blowed if I can turn it into a hyperlink though. Anyway, I've been having a fiddle with it and it's similar enough to Bikehike to satisfy me, if that doesn't return. Perhaps some of you more demanding users will give it a whirl and post some feedback. Seems that now it has miraculously become a hyperlink. Ain't technology marvellous (sometimes).
Re: Bikehike down?
No OS map however. I've been using plotaroute, but again no OS, and none of the maps print well enough to be useful.

Re: Bikehike down?
Plotaroute does have OS if you upgrade to their premium option, I think.
cycle.travel - maps, journey-planner, route guides and city guides

I had issues with Osola a few weeks ago and emailed Bob, who runs the site.
He explained (though I don't understand fully) that Ordnance Survey have altered something and he's had to do likewise to get Osola to work. However, his update doesn't allow for certain web browsers, such as Internet Explorer or (my) early version of Safari to work.
So, stumped all round.
Might have to re-subscribe to Ordnance Survey again.
Re: Bikehike down?
Thanks.
What the latest OS that you can run on the Mac?
And have you tried other browsers?

That sounds like the change to an API, as discussed upthread.fausto copy wrote: ↑8 Sep 2021, 7:37pmHe explained (though I don't understand fully) that Ordnance Survey have altered something and he's had to do likewise to get Osola to work.

Re: Bikehike down?
My Mac dates from 2011 and runs(?) El Capitan 10.11.6 and Safari 11.1.2
I've done searches to discover the I can upgrade to High Sierra 10.13.6 but I don't know if that would still leave me high and dry
And as a real Luddite, I wouldn't know and certainly don't understand how to do these things.
