Profex cycle computer from SJS

Post by cranky »

Anyone tried one of these?

I'm looking for a cheap cadence monitor, nothing fancy so long as it works reliably. What say you ?

I had a problem with the sensor (transmitter) in my old cateye micro dying on me, replaced it with a Strada and that works fine. I got a Profex from SJS on eBay for a fiver and tried it out. It's the most cumbersome thing in the world to set and as ugly as sin but I've now got it showing cadence which is all I wanted from it.

Really, I got so frustrated with the dreadful thing that I got the sacateurs & cut the cadence sensor off.

What does the SET button do? It doesn't set anything!

:?

Just because you cut off one of your own appendages in a fit of pique is no reason to insult others. Take a chill pill and stop being so juvenile.

You see this is the problem with internet forums & why I avoid posting on them.

People take comments so literally & at face value.

I don't want to insult you, I was joking around & I guess I was being juvenile.

I wasn't frothing at the mouth when I wrote the comment, I was amused by your comment. I paid a fiver for the awful thing too & I'm not going to lose sleep over that or treat it to pruning shears next.

I have some neat ones too... and one of the aforementioned computers.

Never had a problem with the computer, but the smilies get in the way sometimes Image
