MR11 Blubs Energy Efficient ones ?

Post by Mike777 »

Hi all

I have some electron lights with a 5 and 10watt blubs (MR11) as the run time on both is about 1.5 hours max can you get blubs with have the same power but less draw on the battery ? Like blubs for domestic lighting.

Any ideas

Thanks

There's nothing available using halogen technology, unfortunately.
You are a candidate for one of the new LEDs. You could retrofit one to your existing kit but it's going to require quite a bit of tinkering. I've recently bought a 3w cree LED torch from Tesco for £10. Honestly, it knocks my old halogen system into the weeds. Batteries don't last that long, but because it only takes 2 AAs, I can carry spares.

Chris

Are you using specific capacity AA's - how long do you get on one set of AA's?

I am contemplating getting one of these Tesco torches as I have heard good reports. Also maybe a Fenix torch.
