Eating establishments Manchester velodrome?

Post by cycleruk »

Does anyone know if there are any restaurants / pubs that serve a reasonable teatime meal.
I beleive there is an ASDA but was looking for something a bit more salubrious

Go into Manchester and find Thomas Street / Tib Street where there are maybe 10 Curry cafes, all of whom serve 'Rice and 3' - that is a large plate of rice and 3 curries for between 3 and 4 quid. Free water on the table, twenty min walk or 5 min cycle.

I recomend Yadgars :D top nosh!

Velodrome food

Post by steady eddy »

The ASDA cafe seems to close by about 5-30 or did when we were there last year so it was diy sarnies from the deli counter for tea. The Velodrome really does need to address the eating issue, serving almost exclusively junk food -presumably from franchised outlets - all be it at fairly reasonable prices.

There's a Maccy D in the Asda car park.

I've found they baguettes they serve in the bar area in the velodrome to be OK, not really junk food. The chips and burgers aren't nice, though.
