My partner wants to buy a set of these but we don't know what they're called & can't seem to find them online - any ideas from the panel?

I wonder how they got their brake and gear levers past the bends in the bars. Mine would not negotiate bends like that without being prised open. Butterfly bars allow you to put the levers on a straight bit of the bars.

Brake levers that are two piece (two bolts) will go on very easily.

Look up On One Midge bars or Mary bars for even more bar madness :D

Those bars look like they've come off an exercise machine at a gym.

They look like Brahma bars, or similar copies. They were very popular in the early 90's on MTBs - which judging from the Zoom stem on that bike looks about right.

As far as I know nobody makes them any more. A wanted post on www.retrobike.co.uk should do the trick though.

Oh, this site really is good. From it I surmise they may be a 'Hornbar Classic'.

Unfortunately couldn't find anything for 'Moth' bars. I did try butterfly bars one time, but they didn't work on that particular bike - maybe I should give them another go.

Mary bars? He's got 'em, although admittedly not built up yet; I have an eye on them myself for a trial as it happens. And yes, they do look rather stupid, I think that might be part of the appeal.

Cheers for the contributions

My Cotic Roadrat has nice silver Mary bars on them. I find them fairly comfy, but I don't find them as stable as straight bars when holding one handed (while signaling).
