Bike parts swop in the Bristol area?

Several weeks ago someone mentioned to me [at a former colleague's leaving do, I think it may have been, where I would have been more pre-occupied with the eats, drinks, and socialising - hopeless time to tell me anything!] that there is some sort of regular but quite frequent, small(?), informal(?), bike jumble or parts exchange somewhere in the Bristol area.
It may even have CTC associations, or then again maybe not, 'cos I think that Bristol CTC Group run a big bike jumble as a major annual event anyway.

But as you will have realised if you've read this far, that is all I know about it at pres. Can anyone provide more info, please?

If you search this CTC website you can find a link to the Bristol CTC and their next auction appears to be 16th February 2011, of donated items for club funds.
The one I attended previously was great !
:D

Thanks Tandemist. I'd heard their do's were good - tho' p'raps only via their own publicity! :) But I wasn't sure when the next one was to be.
However it doesn't look like anyone else on here knows anything about the more frequent events. So I think I'm going to have to give up on them. :(

You could try the cyclejumbles listed on www.campyoldy.com, although they're at least an hour's drive from Bristol :?

As you say, " . . at least . ." !
Still it's an interesting site - probably worth keeping an eye on. Ta!

The one you're thinking of is the first saturday of the month outside Mud Dock cycle shop/cafe - it's free to trade, no entry fee and starts at midday. It's organised by big Mark of the Cheesy Riders.

Incidentally, there's one at Long Aston village hall in about 1 1/2 hours time (2pm) organised by BAD tri.

Ah, brilliant - thanks a lot, Graham - that will definitely be it.

Unfortunately I haven't opened this until 3pm - so I'm too late to get to Long Ashton this afternoon.
But thanks for the thought anyway.

It was a bit triathlon style bling! Not much doing whereas the mud dock is about 70/30 MTB/Road and often lots of old bits going for peanuts or even just gratis for karma points.

The cheesy riders parts sale is an excellent way to pick up perfectly good kit at very low prices, and is always the first Saturday of the month. You can also sell, but it would be polite to ask Mark first. The cheesy riders are found at http://www.thecheesyriders.co.uk and Mark goes by the user name of Agency Scum.
