Can you recommend any good cycling blogs?
Can you recommend any good cycling blogs?
I really like reading other people's blogs but could do with refreshing the ones I watch. Knowing what others are up is all part of the general cycling enjoyment I find, just like many people enjoy tinkering with their bikes when they're not riding. So, I'm looking for blogs which are:
- good quality writing, no garbage
- inspiring
- about cyclists out there really achieving something significant
- from different places around the world
Very much appreciate any suggestions. Please don't be bashful, recommend your own if you like!

Not sure these tick all the boxes but the ones I look at regularly are
http://davesbikeblog.squarespace.com/
Ex UK lugged frame builder Dave Moulton now in USA. Bits and pieces on cycling history, classic lugged frame building.
http://thecyclingsilk.blogspot.com/
Amatuer racer, commuter and lawyer. Good stuff on the failings of the UK road traffic enforcement in relation to cycling.
http://tracksterman.tumblr.com/
Pete Jones, MTBing since the 80s. Mainly on China where he lived for years, now back in the UK on an extended MTB and walking tour of the Scottish highlands. In fact as far as I know no UK home, living on tour in tent and bothy with the odd stay with relatives.

No one believes more firmly than Comrade Napoleon that all animals are equal. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?

I tend to waste way too much time reading the touring reports/blogs from www.crazyguyonabike.com
There are some bike tourist who are on extended, multi month/year trips going around the world and they update from the road.
It's nice to dream!

Lots of quite extraordinary rides documented there, my favourite being Joff Summerfield's amazing circumnavigation on a penny farthing.

Re: Can you recommend any good cycling blogs?
Hey thanks Everyone for these suggestions - I'm certainly enjoying taking a look at these. I'm certainly going to book mark some of them! There seems to be quite a few others around which is encouraging.
Just as my own blog was starting to really get going with regular readers and posts, I had to change the name/address as it inadvertently matched the name of someone else's blog. So I'm back to square one. Grrrrr.
Thanks again so far but I'm still open to suggestions!

Many thanks to everyone who has replied with suggestions. I also hope those links have been of interest to others as well - it's a really nice way of reading what others are up to and each one brings variety to the world of cycling.
I have book marked some as well as adding them as links to my own blog. You're very welcome to take a look:
