Unless you know their LBS in question it is sometimes better to recommend something from a chain where the quality is generally more consistent.

I remember a few years back when I had a budget of about £1000 to spend on a mountain bike I went to the LBS and the salesman was steering me towards a Claude Butler. I'd never heard of them at that time and decided to go elsewhere.

just seen a Specialized Allez Elite 2007 on fleabay, at £200 at the mo.
should be 20spd 105, could be a good buy if it stays in your budget and your the right size.
